The ten senti coin was the second smallest denomination issued into circulation after the five senti (coins with lower values were never made). Coins issued in 1994 circulated for 17 years until 15 January 2011 when they were demonetised and replaced with the Euro, when Estonia joined the Euro currency.

EESTI VABARIIK. The gold-coloured Estonian 20 senti coin made of bronze was replaced by a silver nickel plated steel coin. It weighs 2.27 grams and measures 18.95mm in diameter. In common with most Estonian coins, it has the text Eesti Vabariik on the obverse, and the date of issue and Estonia coat of arms on the reverse. Ten senti coins from Estonia, like most Estonian coins in circulation before the adoption of the Euro, have the text Eesti Vabariik on the denomination side, and the national coat of arms and date of issue on the reverse. The ten senti coin is made from nickel-bronze, weighs 1.87 grams and measures 17.2mm in diameter. This twenty senti coin is the only Estonian pre-Euro coin that is silver-coloured and made from nickel plated steel.
One version is even less original, having a diameter of only 16 mm and on the front the inscription "Eesti" instead of "Eesti Vabariik". These coins are both made of gold as well as silver. The reverse of the coin displays the denomination €10.
